Hey Mike
Haven't seen you post lately. Hope it is not a health issue. Bob

Think he might be on vacation with another member... but you already know that. 0 -
Yep. Another week off.
He is missed.
The other Member, not so much. (Increasingly Confrontational.)0 -
Actually I thought it was two other members that were trolling his posts. I didn't see the level of negative comments from him that they gave. Guess I missed something, wouldn't be the first time. Bob 0 -

Yep. The other "Member," was being a Richard Cranium, of the first order. Glad he got a needed "Time Out."0 -

I had actually ( in a very respectful manner ) made a comment or two on the post that these two were making their derogatory comments on. The topic got poofed along with them getting a time out. That is why I thought it was those two and not Mike. Bob0 -
It?s all about the Glock perfection. 4 days. 0 -
I am afraid that I may be partially responsible. I think the whole Glock/1911 debate is just silly so I posted a couple of "fake" Glock pictures that were posted on the forum years ago. It was meant to be harmless fun. I hope that's not what set the guy off. 0 -
Both members are on a timeout for the gross misuse of the forum notification system. I clicked onto the forum and found that there were 16 alerts on my panel, and more being added by the minute. Members can't see it on their screen, but each topic which has an alert receives a red highlight, and my board looked like a barber pole!
The notification system is a tool and not a toy. Sending a notification is not like pulling a fire alarm, but the system is not intended as a means to drag a he-said, she-said argument off the boards and into the alert system. Claims of another member being a troll, lying about not being a troll, or posting off topic are opinions-they are not the subject matter for alerts.
An unfortunate fact of life is that the is no "one touch" reset for alerts. Every thread which contains an alerted post has to be opened, and the alerted post dealt with and then reset. It is a time consuming process, particularly when a couple of the threads contained as many as 6 alerts. To make the alerts go away in mass, a forum moderator used the expedient of deleting the entire thread, and I can't blame him.
I've dealt with member flare-ups before. They are almost always solved by telling both parties to knock it off, which they do. Their lighting up the alert board with such nonsense really pissed me off. In any event, and despite at least one forum member whining about how I don't like him, I treat everyone in this forum the same. In this case, both parties used the alert system improperly, and they both suffered an identical penalty: 14 days off, which is one day off for each of their unfounded alerts: 28 in total.0 -
Well I hope they both come back. They?ve made for some interesting firearms related discussions. 0 -
Thanks Mark. I knew I missed some of the details. For all you moderators put up with I hope they double your salary next year.
