Amazon Armada
Wow I was caught in some early AM traffic and got to witness the local impact of the "Amazon Armada" must have been close to a fulfillment center, wave after wave of Amazon vans all heading out to make deliveries. I didn't count them but I would be pretty confident I saw at least 200 vans go by.
Amazon has certainly found itself in one hell of a good position, from on line book seller to purveyor of EVERYTHING and handling the delivery too.

I often wonder what the sudden appearance of 20,000 Amazon vans did to the business models of Fed Ex and UPS. 0 -
I heard on the news a few days back they ( amazon ) had 50,000 trucks on the road 
I have heard they have started stocking a lot of items in place of the drop ship they have done in the past .
also last parts for my car I bought came from amazon less expensive then rock auto even for the same parts( brand )0 -

Amazon's only delivering a fraction of their shipments. And they deliver directly to the Post
Office too, with the Post Office delivering to the final destination.
Fed Ex was fired or quit Amazon a few weeks ago. And UPS is very busy delivering Amazon.0 -
From the title I envisioned a parade of Linda Carters. Much to my disappointment it was about delivery trucks. Bob0 -
FEDX owns and operates the sorting facilities staffed by employees of FEDX. The routes they offer for deliveries are bid on by outside contractors who lease those routes, FEDX doesn't own the trucks or employ the drivers or managers. Pay and benefits come from the contractor. Performance of this service can be spotty sometimes... ours was until we complained to the contractor and he fixed the problem. Thursday I paid for Overnight service (Friday 4:30PM, $38.00 for a 6 oz. package) and so far today, Saturday, no word on the package. Envision the problems encountered by a company such as Amazon which promises next day or 2-day deliveries.
UPS is a publically traded company which owns various profit centers such as the air carriers, hubs and trucking services. A UPS employee is employed and paid by UPS.
