Big Game today: No. 5 Utah Utes vs No. 14 Oregon Ducks
Big game today between Oregon and Utah that has playoff implications. The Oregon Ducks will attempt to upset slight favorite Utah, while the Utes want a big win over the Ducks...something that Auburn failed to do. In fact, the Auburn Tigers who just beat Alabama, and who has also played LSU to a three point spread in Death Valley had to play catch up football the entire game at the beginning of this year down South...and with nine seconds remaining as I recall, finally took the lead and the win, after a 21-6 deficit in the third quarter. Oregon is tough, despite their 2 losses.
The Utes need at least a ten to fourteen point win, the way I see it, in order to impress the committee members that they deserve to be the Top 4 team. This should be a big enough margin to set aside the BIG-12 teams' tougher strength of schedule, and also leap frog LSU, if they lose to Georgia, provided the Sooners' and Bears' game ends up being a close one, say, within one to three points.
Lots of folks will probably think that no PAC-12, 12 and 1 team, can hang with the likes of the best SEC teams, and I can't recall a day when they could, unless I go wayyyyy back...except for the Utah (12-0) game against Bama (12-1)...when the Utes hammered The Crimson Tide in the 2009 Sugar Bowl from the git-go...31-17.
Can the Utes do something that was way beyond the ability of the Auburn Tigers to do this year...and that is beat the Ducks by a wide margin? That's the question...coupled by some Luck of the Irish.

What are your thoughts, college football fans?

It reminded me of the Auburn game when they were playing catch -up down by 20-6 in the 3rd Q against the DUCKS!!! Ya gotta love Orgon!!!
The ESPN guys were stunned!!! They are all shocked that Utah was crushed. Now they are saying it makes no difference who wins the BIG-12 game, the winner is in. They and the committee members have more egg on their face for another year running.

Off to watch some commentary and the Baylor-Oklahoma game. Have a great day Austin.0 -

That was indeed a smackdown. I live here in Utah, but that's my only stake in the game. It DID seem like the announcers last night were pulling for the Ducks, however. 0 -
LSU recently humiliated A&M, and they just might embarrass Georgia as well. These Tigers
just might be the best ones ever.0 -

Yep they put a whoopin' on the dogs. They might as well crate up the Heisman Trophy and send it to Joe now. No need for a ceremony.0 -

Agree. The old saying about a blind squirrel finding an acorn now and again comes to mind!
