Counter to China
The USN is having 9 more Virginia Class Attack Subs built.
The planning is for a fleet of 66 total. There are 17 active now and 11 being built. Now a total of 15 more are on order(Up from 6).
These are going to replace the old LA Class.
IMO I think a Sub is about the most survivable platform in the USN.

Aircraft carriers probably won't last 10 minutes in a war these days. Subs have guided missiles that can do the job from a long way off instead of relying on torpedoes.0 -
at least trump is big on keeping our military strong ( which keeps a lot of people working also) unlike obummer the POS who seemed to hate it
I did a walk thru in a old WWII sub in Ga (patriot point ) I am sure conditions have gotten better but no way I could do any long term time in one .
oh there was a sign posted in the sub something like " there is two types of ships in the navy targets and subs ) I found that some waht true and at the time it was in service I sure its accurate0
