My closest friends were 2nd Bat. 75th Ranger Reg.

Miss them one and all. (Only one left alive.) Need to reach out to him.

Great movie! Heroic raid! But, how can we ever make up for deserting our people? Watching this movie goes a long way to remembering the starved and tortured dead and the survivors, so thank you for the post as it gives me pause to remember them.

    Hey.

(But) McArthur made it out alive.

    All good, Right?

Allied losses were 2 killed 4 wounded

IJA losses were from 530-1000 killed and 4 tanks destroyed.

They used a plane to distract the IJA soldiers so the Rangers could moved in close, when they got where they wanted to be that started the ball rolling on the unsuspecting IJA.

The only had 2 prisoners die.

    Great mission.

Not a good time for sure. Remembering my namesake who died in the POW camp in Manila...didn't live long enough to be transferred to one of the Cabanatuan camps FFT to mainland Japan.

The 6th Ranger BN started life as an Artillery unit with Mules. The Mules and mule skinners were sent to Merrill's Marauders the Arty Officers sent elsewhere and the troops trained as Rangers in HI. They and the Alamo Scouts did a lot of fighting in PI.
