  Who knows if the Uighurs are actually a threat.
  
  Western China, however, shares a border with Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Myunclestan, etc.
  
  One can understand the thinking that would lead them to monitor this group.
  
  It sounds like there are huge numbers that have been rounded up and placed in Re-education camps, however. This is a step that is obviously problematic.
