.22 rifle

Christmas is coming up. I have given my other sons .22's that are not semi-auto and can fire s. l. lr. It's his time. A good all purpose rifle. If I get the single shot adapter it should fire what ever's needed. I'll pick up a 10 round mag for range purposes.
I looked at pumps, levers and other repeating bolt actions. Marlin makes a tube feed bolt gun that can run shorts, but it only comes with a plastic stock. I like the tube feed because it can hold more rounds and you don't have to keep up with magazines. But I really like this CZ, should last a life time., be accurate, has an adjustable trigger, good sights and a scope rail. I've about talked myself into it while writing this.
Thoughts/suggestions?

I won't buy that particular rifle, I posted the link to show what I was looking at.
He has a single shot .22, it's an old pull back Savage model I bought when I was 12 years old (I gave $17 used). I gave him that rifle on his 12th birthday. It shoots but is more of a keepsake gift than a life time hunting/target rifle. I killed a lot of things with it, it was all I had, but there are a lot better shooting rifles with better triggers than it is. I've given all my sons either one of my guns from when I was a kid or one of that my father had when he died. That was the last one and I saved it for him. He's the youngest of four. The others got single shot shotguns, that were mine or Dad's, but they were grown when I gave them to them.
The rifle will accept different chambered barrels but I doubt that will ever be needed. I have several .22 rifles but I don't have one this nice for myself. Funny how we will do that, but our kids nicer stuff than we have.0 -
Those are nice rifles. Have you considered something in a reloadable cartridge. Maybe it in a .223 Rem, with cast bullets it's as cheap to shoot as a 22 LR. 0 -
CZ makes a great rifle. I would check to see if it's available with a shorter barrel. 25" is quite long for a 22lr in my opinion. 0 -

I like to set my kids up with the basics. A .22, a 12ga shotgun , a 30 cal centerfire rifle, and a .22 pistol. That covers most of what they are going to hunt here in America. It also makes sure when grand kids come along there is something around for them to shoot. Sure, there are other calibers and guns they may need, and a .22 centerfire is one of them, but they can get anything else they need, or borrow it from me

I just got an unfired CZ 455 Lux .22 lr with 20" barrel and walnut stock. It is a nice rifle with good looking wood. I hope to get it photo'd and listed soon. 0 -
I can't imagine anyone being disappointed in that rifle!

I opened an account at our local Farm/Fleet store as they offered a 15% discount on the first purchase. Shortly thereafter I received in the mail a coupon for a 10% discount on any purchase order $200. About a month later the local paper had a coupon for a 10% discount. At any rate I bought a Henry 22 LR for $229 out the door!! They honored all discounts. Going to my 13 year old grandson this Xmas. 0 -
