Good News -
I opened my paperwork package from my former employer. 5 1/2 years of "Profit Share," $30K. After taxes, $24-25K
As well as a $1860, final paycheck. Two weeks of Vacation. Plus time worked. (2days.)
Things are looking up.

So between unemployment and profit share you are close to covered for two years - not factoring in medical insurance...
Not that I think you would sit things out that long - but it lessens the load certainly.
Don't spend it all on a new jeep gladiator - save some for women and booze.

Good to hear Ken. 0 -
Cool. Now buy a new gun.

Re-enter my info, come Jan. Qualify for VA Health benefits. No job, no income. Etc.
Spent about $1K out of pocket on BPAP machinery this AM.
Some, might be re-embursed, down the road. We'll See.
At least I am not in "Crisis Mode,"0 -
Glad things are looking up. I?d still buy a new gun, but that?s just me. 0 -

Uhh,.......................................................................................................................No.
What are you looking to buy? I might have it.
A road trip to Ricci, may be in order.0 -
Already had $3800 in the bank before/when this happened. (So $6K.)
Not too bad off. I was hoping to use that (Profit Share) $$ as interim, between when I "Retired," at 60, and my subsequent SS benefits, but I will figure it out.0 -
But but...
How can Ricci make a living if not selling you guns regularly...
And how can you permit another less worthy member bid on them and win...
I understand - I burned through $20,000.00 in cash on co-pays and out of pocket and such in 12 months...
Understand I paid my freight while I could and that's the way the ball bounces...
Still a jeep gladiator trail edition limited diesel would be sweet.
And I am sure a half dozen of riccis guns would be to.
But knowing you it's temporary - and things will be okay in the long run.

Thank you Sir.
Although jobs around here are few and far between, much less good/decent paying jobs. I will be okay, come Hell or High Water.0 -
Ken I cannot imagine someone with your military background - job history - presence - and work ethic could not get a supervisory or management position at a warehouse or manufacturing facility...
Or for that matter a big retail shop or gunshop...
I would have hired you in a heartbeat.
I mean that - good workers are hard to find.
When I was the food safety manager for the Dutch firm the greenery for north America I had a young fiesty black girls come in for an interview - 2 kids before she was 16 - no highschool diploma...
No-one would interview her or hire her...
During the interview she stated that she did not want her children growing up in a welfare household believing it was easier or okay not to work - and she had obtained her ged...
She never missed work - she had a superb work ethic - I taught her to do technical scientific stuff that requires a degree - while a bit rough and unpolished and with a hint of ghetto she is still a close friend...
In fact after the greenery pulled out of north America - once I had been hired as food safety and Compliance and training manager for juniors cheesecake I called / texted her and hired her again - because good folk pay it forward and take care of those they mentor - she is still there.
Mass is mail distribution of resumes almost blind is a tough and long road but it works in the long run...
Better that you be worried - but we know you got this.

Thank you Sir.
I have worked my A$$ off for the last 5 1/2 years, to be in the position I am in right now.
Everything is paid off, bills are negligible-I will be okay.
Thank you All.0 -
See how fast a bad situation can turn around? Your knee is getting better, you have a BPAP machine on it's way, your insurance problems are no longer a worry for the near future,.....and now this!!!
That's some great news right there Ken. Glad to hear it!0 -
Great news, Ken! 'Bout damn time something broke your way.
How's the leg doin'?0 -

Just wait till your canine buddy wakes up and sees you in the cpap mask - thinks your a monster and pounces...
Mike0 -
None of this was a surprise. I have been figuring it all out/adding it up in my head since let go. It is a little more than I was looking for, but that is all good.
As stated, Not in Crisis mode yet.
Thanks All.

I know Brother. I usually tell him multiple times during the night, "I Love you Buddy, or You are Okay." Etc.
Now it is going to be Mmnpphh, mmnpphh..............................................at least I will be able to sleep. I've even been getting claustraphobic in the daytime - like right now.0 -
wonderful news. Have a very happy thanksgiving. 0 -
Glad you got some relief. Now start getting a good night's sleep with BPAP and you will have a much better attitude. Hoping for you to come out of all this with a better life. I've seen pets that mirror the emotions of their owners, so Buddy may reflect your happiness. 0 -
I hope your "early" withdraw doesn't bump you up in the tax bracket. 0 -
It has been my experience that when the government discovers someone has received some money -- they want it!
Then everyone else decides they want as well. Banks, insurance companies, etc.
Inanimate objects get in on the feeding frenzy, as well. Objects like the water heater, boat motor, and especially the car.
The part of this that amazes me the most is the demands for my money is usually at least triple the amount I received.0
