Bullitt chase scene
Did you ever notice they pass a green VW more than one time. The version I just watched they passed it 4 times. Probably same scene different cameras. I am surprised it was not corrected.

it seems to me the older we get and the more times we watch the same movie(s) we can follow along almost word for word so we we have more time to notice (pick out ) things we would over looked the fist time seeing the show when caught up in the action ,
" just a movie " is all we really need to remember all for entertainment purposes ... remember its from the same people who gave us 20 round revolvers
and one shot kills with a 380 acp 100 yards away even when 40 bad guys behind barricades are spraying down the area with full auto
firepower and never hit the good guy / gal :shock: :shock: :shock:

The case scene in The French Connection was the best of them all I thought. Gene trashed that LeMans.
The car Chase in to Live and Die in LA is probably the best of all of them.0 -
All I know is that Hollywood sure wrecks a lot of very nice rare and exotic cars from my past! :evil: 0 -
Did you guys see that special where his son wanted to get a custom built car built with modern safety equipment but basically the look and feel of the original. They then got permission to close some of those same streets and put it through the loop. The did some damage and tire hit the inner fender, etc and supposedly they weren't going quite as fast as they did in the original. Makes me wonder how many cars they ruined on the original. Then again, it's a Mustang so who cares. LOL 0 -
Living in SF, even though the scenes are +50 years old, it's kind of funny to see how out of sequence the locations are with the film. Driving down California St to the bay, then a quick cut and he's driving past the Stinking Rose on Columbus. 0 -

Yes, that was an episode of gas monkey garage. I think they said how many cars they used in the original chase but can't remember the number. I believe they also had the VW in the remake of the chase also. Was a pretty good episode for Gas Monkey Garage.0 -

Most 'movie cars' that are wrecked are often fiberglass copies of original cars. Jay Leno hosted one of the stunt drivers from The Dukes of Hazzard and he claimed that most of the wrecked General Lees were actually worked over Fords.
At a staff meeting one of the VPs @ Chrysler quipped 'someone asked me if I had an original Hemi Charger and I replied "yes, I keep it in a coffee can on my mantle"' I guess they were prone to rust.0 -
This has to go back maybe 35 years and the "Blues Brothers" filming in the Chicago area. For some reason they literally piled up 8-10 cop cars used in the movie badly damaged at a big grassed area at a clover leaf intersection in Waconda, IIl. A suburb maybe 30 miles NW of the city. Drove past there the next day and they were gone. Could never figure that out 0 -
