Just returned from picking up a collection in Memphis
I am pretty excited about this upcoming batch.....a few NICE things for sure! Lets just say if you guys were wanting a nice vintage Henry or Winchester I've got your Christmas presents....just let your loved ones know.
I made the mistake of opening the door to my car at an intersection near my home to look at a dog's collar to see if it had a tag and it jumped in my car. This little thing is PITIFUL.....starving to death and ready to be "home" with anyone that will take her. I brought her to the house so I could put her on the local Facebook pages and see if I could find her owner.
My daughter sent her husband over to get her. She can't handle how pitiful this dog looks and even though she has two already she's taking this one into her home too. I was set to take her to the shelter in the morning myself. Three dogs is all I can take!

thanx for the kindness...never fails to see how many crappy people abuse animals...we have 4 rescue and they are our family... 0 -
Glad business is going well. Hopefully you can find the owners of the pup. 0 -
Locust Fork - I'm curious about how you conduct business. Do you go with a stack of cash like that one dude from "American Guns" to temp the sellers? Or more like Rick from "Pawn Stars" calling in an "expert" to give an estimate? or you do your own thang? 0 -
You are such a Sweetheart!
That was so nice of you. Most people couldn't be bothered. I could only hope that if my dog were to ever be lost, he would be treated with such kindness.

Kasey,
Please recall that I am forever in your debt and consider you and yours part of my own extended family - you are a peer and a saint...
Please remember that I am available to research or identify any gun anytime - or to help with an auction description - you have earned the right to call upon me for such assistance (not that you don't do a professional job already)
I and my reference books and files and sticky brain are at your disposal - I would welcome the opportunity...
In fact I would do so for many of you - Mark or trapp or nunn - etc.
Everyone's help during my cancer issues means more to me than you can imagine - a debt I can never repay.
I don't extend the offer or these comments lightly.
Thank you and thank you all.

Kasey was that an offer for a christmas giveaway, if so I am in for the Henry........
gotta give you credit there is no way I could handle a "hobby" like yours, and as the others have said good for you on taking care of the pup, kindness and Karma go hand in hand, maybe you are do for a few new pieces of milkglass..........0 -
God Bless You for rescuing the little mutt. Those strays make the best pets.
My son in law is a serious jogger in Atlanta, he runs Marathons etc. So a few weeks ago, he was off for his morning 10 mile run.
A few miles in a German Sheperd started tagging along. The mutt did not have a collar.
The dog stayed with him for 7 miles, all the way to his house.
He got his Iphone and went to some app, "DogsRLost.com" or some such thing. In five minutes he had located the owner, and five minutes later, the owner was at his house collecting his dog.0 -
Nice job LF!
I have dogs that wonder on to my place at least 2-3 times a year. Usually I know who's they are but not always. Most of the time I take them to the local Vet and they will know the dog or it will have a microchip.0 -
Hope the lost dog finds a new home. How about posting a current "before" picture. I'm sure a few weeks with your family and he will be looking good and then you can post the "After" pictures. Never know one of us may want to adopt him. Also, good luck with processing and selling there Memphis collection. 0 -
I wish I had piles of money to toss around....but, alas, I am just a poor housewife with a hobby.
I get contacted by people from time to time that want me to list their items. To make things easier I will meet them if it helps to get their things here (no charge unless it involves a hotel room and then I just charge whatever the Holiday Inn Express costs.) When you have a group of guns its helpful to save the shipping charges if I can meet up to get them. We've gone as far as Ohio to get a collection. This particular person is from Missouri....so Memphis is a 4 hour drive for each of us.
The little dog was wearing on my heart strings pretty hard last night. It kept trying to come inside my back door.....even though my three dogs were barking like goobers at the poor little thing. I posted pics on my Facebook and my daughter shared that post on a few local pages. When nobody replied my daughter had caught interest in it and said she wanted it. I told her she had her hands full with her two dogs and her son that is just 1 year old. The last thing she needed was a very sickly dog to deal with. If you know anything at all about my daughter is that you can't tell her anything.......so she has it now.

Hard to tell from the picture. But it looks like it's got a little tree dog in it. But could be a beagle mix. 0 -
But....did the fruit bowl get spilled???? 0 -

I am happy to say, the last fruit bowl I purchased made it here to the house.....where I had a few bits out of it.....and then it was shoved behind a bunch of stuff in the fridge where it was forgotten until it went bad.0 -
Owner of the dog has been located. She actually belongs to the mayor and has been a good little hunting dog of his for a long time. She got out some time ago and he had given up on finding her because she had gotten out before, but always came home after her adventures. My daughter wants to keep it. I told her she HAS to give the dog back to the owner, no matter how sweet she is. 0 -
sounds like you are sitting on a political powder keg, if you can get some politicaly incriminating photos of the dog you may have a chance at mayor the next election....... something to think about if your hobby slows down, you don't have any russians helping you do you?????? 0 -

I've got a buddy from Finland that I know I can count on, but that is as far as my international connections go.0 -
So, if you made your contact to pick up the collection at the gates of Graceland in Memphis, you could advertise all the guns had an "Elvis" connection!! :ugeek:
8-) Don't mind me Kasey, I'm just a natural born salesman!
Glad you were kind enough to rescue that poor pooch! Sounds like another happy ending.0 -
I'm looking forward to see what you have got, Kasey. Hopefully, I will find your plugs before they are over. 0
