Has The BATFE Changed The Rules?

As a licensee, you need a certified copy- hardcopy or a copy sent electronically- from the receiving FFL. That hasn't changed, and it won't. In cases of transactions between licensees, the EZ Check is not a substitute.

When buyers use the checkout they can select a transfer FFL, it confuses many low volume buyers. They think that by selecting on FFL on the checkout that they are done, despite the disclaimer that tells them they or their transfer FFL still need to send a copy over to the seller. It can be confusing for those that don't read the disclaimer, I've had a few people tell me the same thing.

So to answer your question, no, nothing has changed other than buyers being able to tell the seller specifically where the gun is going to be sent when they checkout.

Watch what color ink pen you sign things with - the batfe has issues with certain colors...

Nunn, your buyers may be confused. The FFL Network still works the same way. GB verifies the data with the ATF and will prepopulate the shipping address on an order and send the Buyer, the seller and the selected FFL an email with all of the info about the transaction. But there is a relatively new feature that many folks still dont know about if you are in the FFL network you can upload a copy of your license to GB and they verify it and store it. When a buyer selects their FFL from the network and the FFL copy is on file with GB the email that is sent to the seller also has a link to the COPY. This means that as soon as the buyer has completed checkout the seller has their copy. The FFL is still notified that X item is coming from Y seller and is for transfer to person Z. Saves my compliance people tons of time and gets items that our members have ordered shipped a lot faster.

I always email the seller a scan of the FFL where I want it sent to (in case they want to package and label item) and tell them I'll also send a paper copy though it too is a copy not in original ink. I have only had one seller balk in all the auctions I have done here. I really think/thought he was trying to get out of it because it sold for a low price though he did eventually go with it.

I noticed the option to upload a FFL copy so I did.

That seems like a good option if it catches on.

    THANKS!!!
