All the time and effort restoring the ford mustang name and performance and building the brand back up - we were finally forgetting the merkur and probe (both meant to replace mustang designs) and the mustang II...
the gt 500 now has over 760 horse power - the four cylinder is 306+...
The original surviving Shelby crew is building brand new original old school1965 Shelby GT350 (R & COMP & street) on original 65 mustang K code block cars - continuation series
Why would Ford do this.
Why steal the precious coveted repaired brand name with a rebadged Prius (now available in all wheel drive winter excursion variants)
Can't imagine it's a performance car that can beat Tesla performance numbers.

A decal or stripe or appearance package and shiny wheels does not make a bad entry level car into a mustang...
Badging a car and adding saying cues to look like a mustang viewed by Mr. Magoo at dusk does not add up...
Ford just won lemans with the new GT40 powered by a V6 engine for heaven's sake.
GM is worse - full size half ton trucks with four cylinder engines - the camaro has lost the hi po six option - they have ruined the impala brand for decades with mass market rental grade four door basic sedans borrowing under powered fleet engines and eliminating a manual transmission...
If you took a production mustang and gutted it - put the electric battery and drive system in it that would be one thing - not a compact wind tunnel designed amalgamation of sub compact Euro trash...
Very short sighted and stupid.
Resurrect the cougar name brand or the Capri - don't hurt the mustang.
