S&W model 19 coming home

So I did my part, once again to support the forums. I think I did pretty good on this Model 19-2 considering it's condition and has the original box, paperwork etc. The seller is local so no shipping I can pick it up in person. I have a pile of .357 and .38s and hadn't had a .357 in a while. I figure with the pending mag restrictions the Dems intend to put in place here I better get on the ball and get a wheel gun. I've wanted a 19 or 66 snubbie for many years..he had both for sale.

    That is a sweet looking Combat Magnum. I sold one of those on GB about five years ago to a shop in Denver? I think. It was like new but it sold for $1000.00 which surprised me. I was even more surprised when I talked to the store and they told me it was going to a collector in Germany. Damn, how much did he have in that revolver by the time the store made their money plus importation and taxes??

    I'm old enough that I carried a revolver (model 10) through police academy. So I am one of the few around here remaining in this line of work that actually has training on a wheel gun!! I was the only one in my regional academy class that still carried a wheel gun.

    Yeah I feel like i got it for a good price...he had a model 66 in the same condition for even less $805..i wanted both but had to pick my poison...I got if for $5.00 over the preceding bid and it sat for several hours with my bid and I guess no one was watching it.

    I had one similar but sold it or Ricci did.

    Now my only 357 snubbie is a Ruger SP101 with a 3" barrel.

    ;) I am rather fond on my model 13-3

    Hogue exotic hardwood oversized finger groove one piece grips now adorn it - as I have big hands and it's a bit to much gun to be a CCW EDC piece

    Combat sights and chambered in .357 magnum - with a basket weave leather snap close holster

    I am not - I never will be a good handgun shooter - but with this revolver I hang tennis balls by fishing line and make it dance and swing and sometimes pause and stay still - point and shoot almost more instinct then proper technique...

    I have a small frame snub nosed INI jaguar Brazilian air Force officers revolver in .32 S&W long that is a dead clone of a Smith and Wesson that is my favorite concealed carry piece by far...

    Browning brand soft lead semiwadcutters +p loads are my favorite but I do have a bunch of round nose lead cowboy action / SASS stuff as well...

    Pretty certain my 13-3 is a police department trade in

    Wide trigger great timing smooth action nice hammer...

    Your gun is well found and well bought.

    When did they close? I always wondered how they got enough business where they are? I gather NRV Firearms is a home FFL in Dublin that does it on the side of a regular job. He's been very fast in communicating, and seems very accommodating. He's got great feedback at 545.

    I thought the batfe eliminated most home address FFL's...

    That they required a brick and mortar retail location and a real street address not a PO BOX

    I know many LEO's still have managed to somehow skirt this rule or got grandfathered in...

    Or am I mistaken and talking out of my behind.

    I am making an assumption that he is a home FFL, perhaps he has a small shop I haven't been there yet. Based on google it appears to be a residence.
    What i do know is he can't meet until the evening because he works a steady job until 4pm everyday. We have a local pawn shop that is only open on Saturdays and by appointment...says he does it mostly as a hobby, buying estate guns etc....not sure how he makes money only being open one day a week, but he's been there a couple years now. Maybe it's a front.

    Strictly an S&W compact snub nosed CCW EDC guy or are you an ardent fan or collector of other brands and types...

    Favorites or coveted pieces that are elusive???

    He is a home FFL...has had it for 15 years....said he does about 600 transactions a year. He used to do class III stuff too but gave that up.

    He sold this unfired FAL for $7K too out of the same collection that i got this 19-2 from....an elderly Dr is liquidating his collection. The FAL makes up for the discount I got on the 19-2 from 1963...which the gun I scored is pretty much pristine other than turn line.

    I had a very nice 6" python that i sold..there is a 4" python for sale locally that has a lot of bluing wear but described as still tight...I may pop on it as a shooter.
