    Sounds like the kid is enjoying it. He says in the article he made double lung shots on the three deer he's killed with it.

    Nothing like the "Air Guns," we are used to. (Large caliber) [In response to the .223 post, while I was typing this.] Knock Down Power.

    I've done a very limited view in to them. Charged with a high pressure "Scuba tank," type set up, if I recall correctly.

    Supposed to be BA.

    I watched a video on YT of a guy shooting hogs with a 50 cal air gun. It was smoking the hogs.

    That kid is a good hunter when he targets a specific deer and bags it.

    I just wonder what it falls under? Its not a centerfire gun, a muzzle loader or really anything.

    I didn't know air rifles were legal for deer. I didn't know an air rifle could kill a deer.

    If you want to spend the cash you can get ones with a lot more power. But think about the are rifle Lewis and Clark took with them. Powerful air rifles have been around a long time.

    I had someone tell me they head shot at about 20 yards and killed a deer with a 30 cal springer.I think velocity on those are about 550 fps.

    Here in NC the regs are not very clear and vary from county to county. If I was going to try it out I would talk to the DNR before I dropped a G on the gun.

    Lewis and Clark had an air rifle. One of them harvested a deer and the other shot a goose out of the air with it. 50 cal, 10 shot magazine, 5 at full power. 1000 strokes to charge it. The native american's loved it - no gun powder required.

    145 grain projectile @800fps. I would not shoot a deer with that.
    I don?t even need to do the math to know that wouldn?t even make USPSA minor power factor -which translates to mousefart 9mm.

    Impressive for an air rifle. Not appropriate for game hunting.

    That is about as powerful as a 38 S&W shot from a rifle.

    I would not think it has much killing power but evidently it does.

    I was basically going to post the same as the last two.
    It would not be legal where I hunt. It requires "centerfire cartridge of .23" or bigger. It used to be just plain silly using archaic restrictions of case length and such, particularly for handguns but thankfully the removed that some years back as it was silly. A .380 acp carbine would be legal, but a 220 Swift was not. A 38 special was legal, 10mm auto was not. The list went on and on...

    A friend of mine has a FX Crown 25 caliber. Optioned out it was over 2 grand.

    Now I know why the kid said the deer ran 30 yards then started bleeding out. I appears these guns kill like a bow, wound and blood loss.

    I imagine the gun has an application but with all the real deer rifles I wouldn't use one. Of course that is about as close as I would get to a scuba tank being used. I can only think of the man that went up to the deer the other day and it wasn't dead. Don't think I would want an airgun to support the attack.
