As you might guess I spend quite a bit of time there.
I like dreamland bbq & there are 3 or 4 pretty cool micro breweries one of which is a pretty nice pizza joint too.
I?m out in L.A. this wk and would much rather be in Huntsville if give. The choice.
Oh- check out Rocket City Practical shooters if you have time to shoot-they host USPSA/steel challenge etc.0 -

I'm a few hrs away in the ATL, if you have time stop by to check out our club. However while in Hunstville, Dreamland is good, (not as good as the original in Tuscaloosa when Big Daddy was still alive, but still quite tasty). There is another place in the area whose name escapes me that does an awesome chicken BBQ with a white sauce.
Do be sure to check out Straight to Ale Brewery and restaurant. A good friend of mine from high school and college whose day job is now a RNS Rocket Scientist is one of the founders. Their Monkeynaut is one of my favorites.

Yes! There are 3 microbreweries within 5 minutes of eachother right there.
I think one is also called Yellow Brick(?) (Yellow something) thats the pizza place.
Apart from those 3 there is another one closer to the airport stuffed next to a bunch of warehouses (I?ve only been there when it was dark outside)..CaptFun wrote:I'm a few hrs away in the ATL, if you have time stop by to check out our club. I was at Dreamland for lunch today. Might have some time to head your way tomorrow. Will see 6hrs rnd trip is a bit much. I flew thru ATL on the way here it'd be one thing to change my flight to just leave from ATL.0 -
Let me know if you are coming through. Normally we have shotgun league Wednesday nights, but it wrapped last week. My friends and I still try to shoot ATA or 5 stand on the off weeks. We are still working on the skeet setup, but if you have never shot Olympic Trap we have the only indoor field in the US. :P 0 -

my son moved there this past summer, i helped him move the last of his stuff about three weeks ago. reminded me a lot of the calif bay area. way too many people for the infrastructure. good place to be if you like that culture or have a good job. going to really get hectic when toyota gets going. ate bbq there at a local joint that was very good. down south near I65.dont remember the name. 0 -

Not going to be able to this trip. I had a second unscheduled meeting come up. Maybe next time! Most of our customers are down here.0 -

Hour and a half at least to her place from there at least depending on how far from a river crossing you are. I used to do a lot of work in that neck of Alabama...
Sorry I wont see you this trip message me on LinkedIn next time you are out this way...0 -
