Heartland America, A Shifty Seller
Heartland America is a shifty seller.
I have bought a few items from Heartland, but not in a while. I checked my card statement yesterday and found two charges by Heartland. Both were on the same day and both were of the same amount. And I hadn't ordered from them in several months. Strange.
So, I called them. Fella on the phone told me those were "membership charges." Two of them, because I bought two different memberships. But I did not. I told the guy to take the charges off, and he said he would.
I'll be watching, and any future Heartland America catalogs that arrive here will go immediately in the trash.
Just a word to the wise.

Companies seem to get some perverse pleasure from beating you out of $2 rather than simply earning $10. 0 -
This is EXACTLY the kind of garbage they are teaching in business schools these days. You don't have an "honest" business, but rather screw lots and lots of people out of small amounts of money, and hope they won't notice.
This kind of garbage really upsets me, far more than it should, but it is a major problem.
Banks and just about anyone who has a monthly charge will do this.
Keep an eye on your accounts!
