Sorry Yosh, (But) We should have dropped "Several" bombs on them. I believe we would have, but only had the two, on hand.

They picked the fight, they wanted it. They instigated it.

I'd say, we should have given it to them. In Spades. Several times over.

All, the atrocities commited against our troops, civilians........................Bataan Death march, Burma, Corrigador, Rape of Nanking? Etc. Etc.

How do you like me now?

They would have absolutely hated me, if I was in charge.

No Nation rebuilding BS, either. Same with any Nation, we ever get in a War with.

    (F. U.) Rebuild this.

That is how how you make people fear you. Anything less is absolute BS.

    Ken, bless your heart!

A few years ago, I stated something similar on these forums, and was roundly vilified by some of the members here, one of whom called me a loser in a dead-end job, with loser children living loser lives. I think he died.

I stated that Japan made a good place to test nuclear weapons; we just didn't test enough of them.

I read a Science Fiction short story about a guy who was transported to the future using the energy of the "Trinity" a-bomb explosion.

He reported back that he saw a farmer using a Kubota tractor, watching a Sony TV, etc.

He said he really wondered who won the war! :D

From a historical perspective most folk fail to comprehend the level of societal cultural racial xenophobia exhibited by the Japanese...

Much like Hitler and the Third Reich considering pure Germans the master race the Japanese considered most non Japanese sub human.

Even inside their own culture there are castes and levels of racial purity / superiority.

While most folk are familiar with the genocide and holocaust and crimes against humanity in the European theatre few understand the scope and breadth of the horrors and terrors visited on Japan's neighbors.

The IJA killed millions and conducted experiments on thousands of humans. They mistreated and murdered soldiers and civilians under their care.

They were totally xenophobic and considered anyone not Japanese sub-human.

The only reason more is not said about their war crimes is most of these crimes were committed against Asians and nobody cares.

I would say they got off easy myself and they can thank MacArthur for that.
