Didn't think there were any still open. Local ones were gone 10 years ago...

A couple went out of business around here. Their prices seemed high so I walked through the stores with my phone on-line and compared their 40%-off prices with Walmart's everyday price. Customers were running, pushing and shoving.

    Almost identical prices!

I have no use for their "mark it up 45% so we can mark it down 40%" scam! I hope they all go out of business.

Sounds like the car dealer who would give a ''preachers discount'' to any of the local clergy. ADD 40%-Take away 10% ;)

Yes.. all the folks in Kmart buying deals..bbq grilles , small appliaces, electronics were gone but signs still up.. Some of the prices were so low they didn't have any items. Half off a nice Lowes 125 dollar super grill is 62.50... yes get on your phone and check some of that. The fishing stuff as I stated was super super low. Lowest I have ever seen somewhat unbelievable. No rods left or reals, mostly all small item .:lol::lol: And yes I have bought stuff at walmart. Not ever close on price. And remember fishing season is year round here in SC.:lol:

Just happened to be in Salinas and they're closing, too. I went in there looking for bags of Halloween Pay Day but they didn't have it. I reckon that was the first time I stepped in one close to 20 years? I should've asked if they were selling their Icee Machine. Don't have a place to put it but I'd make room for specialty Icees.

I have a lot of good memories from K-Mart. Used to sit with my late FIL having breakfast in their little diner. It became a monthly event back in the day. You could even smoke at the table back then!

Dad bought my first .22 there. Sporting goods had guns galore. Remington 572 deluxe. However if that gun sat in the gun rack at home loaded.. it would not shoot the first rd without pumping a new rd on the chamber. We even tried different ammo. Dad returned it to K mart for a refund.
