What's on your "have to have" list for your next gun purchase? October got 4 new ones for me, but I just gotta get me a Remington 541T. Had one years ago, and foolishly I sold it. Gotta, gotta, gotta get me one...... :D

    I am working on a collection of the military hand guns of WWII. There are some I will likely never see offered at any price, such as those used by South American Countries and Mexico, but I am only a very few shy of the European hand guns used. Need a 400 Astra, a Webley Mark VI and a few of the odd US guns, like the .38 issued to the CIA (OSS), and similar guns used by pilot, some training pistols etc. It is a work in progress.

    Since this is a wish thread and wishes are just dreams unless you hit the lotto, I know a guy who is a master gun builder. He also engraves with more skill than most members of the guilds. One of the rifles he built a few years ago, was a beautiful fullstock PA\Kentucky fullstock 54 caliber swamped barrel 44" long, engraved flintlock he reworked from a Chambers kit, super curly maple stock carved in all the right places in gorgeous rococo style. All brass furniture finely fitted, polished, and engraved exquisitely.

    And to top everything off his handmade iron sights were made from a meteor! :o 8-) YUP! I would like to buy that someday! :D

    Picked up a few guns since I've been home:

    Assembled a 20 inch barrel PSA A2/A4 rifle.
    Ruger Redhawk 45 Colt/ACP
    Ruger LCP
    Sig P365
    Winchester 97
    Stoeger Coach Gun

    With Deer Season coming up I'm jonesin for a left hand Ruger Scout Rifle with 18" barrel. Have some ballistic tip 308 coming from Midway for my M1A that I plan to use. However, thinking a lighter weight bolt might be more fun to drag around.

    An AR-10. I can't see prices getting lower than they are right now, so I pulled the trigger on a PSA AR-10. It should be here by the middle of the week

    I've been wanting one also. Every time I found a good price on one, they were sold out. :/

    I didn't notice that it was an old thread, and I had already posted on it. At least I'm consistent with my want list. :D:blush:

    I did get my AR-10, and I was right, the prices never got lower...but they've sure gotten higher!

    PSA with heavy SS barrel and the expected MAGPUL furniture, magazines and bipod. It came with what PSA called their "target trigger", which wasn't bad, but I eventually replaced it with a Bushmaster target trigger, which is better. Detachable iron sights, Kahles 10X scope on a Warne mount (Warne has been around forever and I like their products), A Strike Industries hand stop and a Yankee Hill Machine Resonator suppressor using YHM's QD mount.

    It is a nice rifle and capable of shooting very tight groups. I'm pleased with it.

    I have made more than a few "steamer trunks" in my Shop.  Although they are much larger, they are easier to build . . . because you just get out the catalog and order the hardware.  It is a whole different ballgame, when your steamer trunks are only 11 1/2 inches wide.  Tough to find the metal parts, but at least you can cut the leather easy enough.

    Of course, there is extra space under the tray.  That makes a good place to store ammunition and the belt buckle (and belt) for the LR revolver.  I sure hope the inside is properly finished.  I don't want to take the chance of "trunk shrinkage" on the belt the next time I want to wear it.

    Well the loaded Springfield M-1A is off the list, now maybe a nice Garand and or a M1 carbine.
    Uberti 44/40 to go with the Yellow Boy.
    M-60, the "pig", not, blew my chance at one of those years ago for 5,600.00. I guess that tell you about how old I am.

    there is always  a long list be it cars guns tools or what ever
    I am only 63 or wow your 63 depending on how you look at it  :/  
    do I need any of them no not really and I find it easier to talk my self out of a new "toy " lately
         I  am working on my mower ( 3 point ) currently  and was talking  to my oldest son a couple nights ago while in the pole barn .  
     I told him  look around when I was in my 20's even early 40's I would have loved to had all the tools and the place to use them    I have accumulated starting with just a few wrenches and sockets as a kid but did every thing with just basic tools . now I have a lot more ability and way more tools than I ever dreamed of but old age and a bad back has taken the ambitions and desire away ,
            sorta the same with the guns I have more than I ever thought I would  of course plenty more I would like to have it is a endless list but I  seldom ever get out just to enjoy shooing them as I did years ago . 
    so why buy another to add to the safes .
     I have a AMT 22 pistol and a ruger 10-22 I use 99% of the time  ( even a few nights ago ) to dispatch unwanted critter's
    no I have not tossed in the towel on life or my hobbies  I just have gotten to doing second thoughts any impulse buys unless its a killer deal of course  ;)

    Which configuration did you go with, Mr. C? I'd like one of the 20" stainless uppers but am still undecided on which lower.
    Same here on the gun but with an 18 inch barrel

    I went with the 18" barrel. 16" was too short- I didn't want a carbine. I considered the 20", but I prefer to shoot suppressed and the extra 2 inches would make an already long suppressor seem even longer.
