They SUCK
I hate full length guide rods in a 1911. A piece of crap addition that does not do a damn thing except make disassembly harder. Garbage Garbage Garbage. Any rental 1911 we had that came with the damn things I replaced with proper pieces before that ever went out. When they were sold at the end of the rental period the rods were in the box with the gun. As useless as a damn democrap politician.

I'm only talking about 4 and 5 inch guns. I understand the need in short 3 1/2" guns but I would never trust a 3 1/2 gun". Just personal but no thank you. I always thought the short .45acp guns were working right on the edge. By the way if anyone is carrying a Colt Defender have you ever looked closely at that thin metal disk on the rear of the recoil spring assembly?? Scary!! I have seen the two piece rods and no I don't care for them either. I don't have any problem tearing down a 1911 I just pull the slide stop and take the slide off no mater what kind of guide rod except for the captured ones of course. I cut off a paper clip for those little treasures. Hey it's just a personal thing. I don't plan to ever carry a 1911 again. That's why God made Glocks. 0 -
" That's why God made Glocks."...................as punishment for people that don't like 1911's

I like 1911"s very much and have owned many and still own a couple. One Colt GM and a Les Baer Premier but there's no sense carrying a heavy low cap pistol when I have Glocks. 0 -
Wit that subject line, I thought you were going to talk about the Arkansas Razorbacks football team. Oh well, it is probably best not to talk about them anyway because they do SUCK.

I like the full length guide rods. All my 1911s came with one. A friend o' mine just got a Delta Elite and those came with just a "guide" and to me that was funky. Now two piece are okay but I like the ones with a hole in the guide rod to slip a paper clip through. Also single piece make no difference on bull barrels that has been milled opposite of the guide rod. 0
