    NIce!

I could do without the forward cocking serrations, does it have a full length guide rod?

I have a Dremel but I think we should be professional and use a large bastard file to remove the forward grooves. No a short rod and a flat coil spring.

How about a mig welder and just fill them in.

    Got it.

I figured it was because you cannot tune it I didn't really think about the gunk factor ;)

Does it really need tuning?? It's under constant spring pressure and they work on most other designs. I can see that deep cleaning would require removal of the retaining pin but I haven't personally seen a failure caused by dirt getting inside that hole the extractor lives in as long as you brush the hook and maybe use some brake cleaner now and then.

Did he mistake a 1911 for a plow?? There is no excuse for abuse of a firearm or any other machine like that. That's not a design failure just a lack of care. Good thing you are there to take care of stuff like that. I hope you charged him double.

If that gun was one of my soldiers he would be doing pushups till I got tired.

There is no excuse for something like that and if he handed it to be and asked me to clean it I would have charged $1000.00 just out of meanness.
