I'm no fan of those who harm animals for sick pleasure, however I think it is a slippery slope that will lead to first no animals for food Etc.

Is is torture to reel in a fish and let it go? Cut off its head and prepare it to eat? Cook a live lobster?

Just another feel good law for the pansies that want daddy to hold their hand and punish anyone that insults their senses. Animal cruelty is already punishable on the state levels and the feds have no business getting involved. Even at that the states have and are passing some really ridiculous animal laws for the feel good crowd. It's getting where an average Joe can't even own a dog anymore without pizzing somebody off.

They have big fish to fry this is just a snowflake bill.

I am all against animal cruelty but the feds don't need to get involved.

I think we all do, and we agree with the intent of it.

But.... I think the OP really meant to ask - "What does this have to do with inter-state commerce?"

    Text of the law -

    https://www.congress.gov/bill/114th-congress/house-bill/2293/text

As with gun laws written to apply to those who already disregard the law, this one is useless against the purported offense. Those who wish to get around it easily shall. And note that changing but a few words would outlaw hunting for sport, trophy hunting and eventually hunting for food. Anyone care to venture whether shooting prairie dogs, or showing videos thereof, could be made illegal by a stretched interpretation of this law via "judge shopping"?

This country was never meant to have a full time congress reigning over us like royalties. That bunch of SOB's have nothing else to do but sit around thinking up and passing more and more laws. That animal cruelty law is not going to do anymore good than more gun control laws. Criminals and idiots are going to do what they do regardless of laws.

Your thread title says it all....

More Tenn. counties are enacting into law "gun sanctuary laws".

You can keep your illegal aliens, we'll keep our guns!!! :D

Make war a Felony when you kill humans first on the list. Of course, you can kill humans to keep those in power to stay in power! But if you kill an animal by crushing you are a criminal here. After all they must instill compassion to make you think we are all sane! Yep feel good snowflake law is all it is. Abortion is murder and it's legal here. It's an insane world. Believe it or not.
