Who would buy a .41 Magnum????

Someone I hope cause I just got a pretty Marlin 1894S made in 1987 and chambered in that caliber. 20" barrel with nice walnut and 98% blue it will be needing a good home soon.

    I have an 1894S in 41 and love it. They are hard to find since they only made about 3300 of them. Should bring well over a grand.. Post the link when you get it up please.

    It's on my "like to have" list. Right now it's not on my "spend cash on" list. Coupled with a 41. mag revolver it would be a great combo for Indiana deer hunting as the cartridge is legal in both. A .44 mag is as well, but of the two, I would rather have the .41.

    Oakie had at least one of them, maybe more.

    I have a Blackhawk in .41 mag.
    I do have the Marlin in .44 mag and one in .41 would be nice to add to the collection but, as previously stated, I'm sure it will bring at way over a grand also.
    Will be interesting to watch.

    I bought a 1960?s era Ruger Blackhawk .41 mag years ago for the pricey sum of $250. Super accurate revolver. Would love to have a Marlin to go with it but they never are found for less than $800 in .41 mag that I?ve ever seen locally or online.

    Elmer said it was a better long range cartridge than the 44 mag. One of the most punishing pistols I ever shot was short barreled Ruger something in 41 Mag. Good luck, hope it bring you a good price.

    IMO It's a better hunting round for deer size game than the .357 mag and flatter shooting out of a rifle than the .44mag. IMO It offers no advantage for personal protection it's advantage is as a hunting round. The .454 I carry beats all of them hands down but not everyone wants to, or can, handle the recoil. For them the .41 mag may be a good fit. I already have a revolver and a lever gun in .357 mag and I don't need to upgrade bad enough to buy one right now as I hunt mostly with rifles on private land and a slug gun on public land (Indiana law has more limits on rifle cartridges on public land than private land.)

    It has it's place, but not for everyone. Hunting laws being what they are it would probably be much more use to me in Indiana than to you in Washington.

    So yes MMMV :)

    S&W never made a 44 Magnum version of the Model 58. That alone makes the 41 Magnum worth it for me. :)

    That is one that is missing from my Marlin collection unfortunately my budget for this month is pretty slim

    Except for several .41 rimfire (short and standard and XL) vintage patent infringement work around handguns of dubious design and odd architecture - and a pair of cute carbines (rolling block and pivoting dropping block) I have never owned a .41 caliber centerfire modern rifle or pistol.

    Though the rolling block Belgian fancy baby carbine in .41 XL has an actually decent performance envelope (if you can find extra long ammo - mostly I fire shorts from Argentina or Canada through it...

    There are several modern center fire magnum carbines and vintage special revolvers I would own if presented the opportunity.

    41 magnum is one of my favorite calibers.

    I will be watching, I have never had a rifle in that caliber it would make a great woods rifle for deer.

    I like the Para Ord 45 you have too.
