Sounds like a good book Sam! I sure do know what you are talking about when it comes to rereading old books in your "golden years".

I recently reread (with total interest and entertainment) an old book I read in Jr. High School. "Kon-Tiki"
by Thor Heyerdahl. It was like reading it for the first time, and while that is a bummer statement for my lost brain cells.....on a positive note....I enjoyed it! :D

P.S. Oh, almost forgot. This time around I didn't have to write a book report about it!

I have read that book a couple of times with the first being also in Jr High. It was pure adventure and without the technology we have today. After I try to find Sams' suggestion, which sounds right up my alley, I'll dig out Kon-Tiki again. Bob

    Kon-Tiki is a wonderful book.

My next old book is Chariots of the gods.

I read it in High School and then had to debate it in class.

I periodically reread several books from years ago . One of my favorites are the Foundation series by Asimov and the dragon riders of pern by Mcafferty.. Have done kontiki several times since first reading it in about 1968

Another book I was more or less forced to read back in Jr. High, was titled "Mrs. Mike". It was about a young gal who married a Canadian Mountie and moved far north away from her warmer home because of a health condition, pleurisy I think.

Dragged my feet getting started into it but after the first chapter or so found it quite a good read. This post has lit a fire to check up on that old book and give it another try!
