ahh crap....
Doing some work outside and noticed that I had water coming out from around a soffit light. Yep, a roof water leak.. I could deal with the leak, but it was leaking for a couple of days that the wife and I were gone and it ruined about 7 rifle and shotgun boxes that were in a little storage area off of our bonus room. I for one feel that boxes and original paperwork add value to a gun... Deep breaths, deep breaths.. Oh well.

Dang, that bites. 0 -
In the not-too-far future, when you are filling out the report about losing your guns in a boating accident, you can present the water-damaged boxes as proof.
The guns didn't float but the boxes did.
Remember to shed a few tears.0 -
Ouch, well better the boxes than the guns. Put the remaining boxes in plastic, and thanks for the reminder, some of mine are not. 0 -
I have used vaccuum seal bags. They come in a roll for the machine and will hold a long gun.
Throw a moisture pack in there first.0 -
Sucks but as noted better than it could have been, you would think after a few thousand years of making shelters we would be able to do a roof that lasted more than twenty years without leaking 0 -
