time has come

my arthritis doctor told me there is nothing more she can do for my knee. so she sent me to the bone doctor to talk to him.
I already knew what he was going to say because I been putting this off for the last 3 years
I didn't know I have to see a medical doctor before the surgeon will operate. so I see him tomorrow.
I can only walk short distances then I have to stop because of the swelling in my foot and knee.
if ya'll don't mind, I would appreciate it if you would wish me well :D

    We , my doctor and I are fighting the same battle with my knees and arthritis . Just started on injections this week , hope for some relief soon . Not being able to walk more than a city block without sit down rest is wearing me out . Plays hell with my hunting!

    Let me introduce you to a term you may not be familar with:

    GQB

    Greedy Quack Bastard. There are lot of them out there. Maybe all of them, according to my research. I had a knee replaced and something went wrong. The other knee needs replacing but I'm holding out.
    The GQB's shuffeled me from GQB to GQB over my heart. Each had a different story and swore it was the truth.
    My personal GQB was a nice lady but the feds now dictate healthcare so she quit caring about her practice and concrentrates on her "business".
    I have given up.

    My point is, (as mentioned by others) do not hesitate to get a 2nd opinion.... and 3rd opinion and 4th opinion.... And remember, you are looking for a compentent GQB.

    That looks really painful. When you untie your boots in the evening the left one probably launches right off your foot. Best wishes on getting straightened out.

    I havn't wore shoes/boots for 2 weeks . adjustable strap sandals . and I can tell you my toes get pretty cold :lol:

    Best wishes on a good outcome, I had a similar problem with leg and foot, after being passed around from Dr. to Dr. I gave up and went to Tractor Supply and bought a bottle of Horse liniment.......it has helped me more than any of the Doctors ever did, damn near 100% now and I still use it. Don't take what I say as Medical advice, I know each case is different ;)

    The major difference is a GQB cannot prescribe you anything for pain. Hahahahahaha

    Prayers are stronger than good wishes so I offer a prayer that God chooses to heal your ailment and if not that he gives you the strength to deal with it.

    An acquaintance of mine recently broke his ankle, just stepped wrong. After months of attempting to heal he is resigned to the fact that he will lose the foot due to necrotic bone tissue, I told him the same thing others are saying I would like to believe that I would exhaust all my options before giving up.

    Your surgeon is ether a MD aka a medical doctor or a DO aka a doctor of osteopathy, there is no need to see a "medical doctor" before the surgeon will operate.
    From April 25 2013- July 25 2019 I have been operated on 13 times by 6 different DR's and not one has required me to see a "medical doctor" before he/she would operate.

    many years ago I went to see a surgeon for a hernia repair , first thing he ask what doc said I had one and sent me to him . I said none I know whats wrong ( I had done one in the past for me about 20 years earlier ) and wanted it repaired . he checked and said yep you have a hernia and did the procedure but I still had to get my family doc in the picture for his share

    looking at a possible hip replacement, will have mri wednsday, if needed will have to go back to get ok from my cardiologist, then have breathing test done with pulmonary doctor, was told this was needed or no anastethiologist would put me under without the ok from the other two doctors. breathing test has something to do with meds they put you under with or so I was told. thing is I just saw both less than 3 months ago, but they have to ok me within 30 days of surgery..........

    other thing is surgery will be in pittsburg, and not sure they will take the ok from my doctors in clarksburg, or if I have to see cardio/pulmonary in pittsburg to get ok, thing is its VA and it is all on computer they can, pull tests and office notes up, we will see...........

    hope you get yours done with as little hassle as possible, that picture hurts to look at

    good luck with your hip replacement. I was told by Dr Kemp at WVU in Martinsburg that of all replacements the knee is the worst

    Prayers for you and yours. I have had both knees replaced at 52 years old because of arthritis and because my miniscus was gone.

    My knee would pop out of joint while i was walking and i would have to stop and find something to hold onto while i wiggled my knee to pop back in place.

    When it popped out the pain was a 10 out of 10 but when it popped back in it was as good as sex. LOL

    Whatever you do max out rehab. I can not express how important it is to start as soon as they say and listin to them they do know best. I still have mild pain but its bearable.

    I know about rehab. I spent 3 days a week for 3 months on my last knee job 12 years ago
