There is a winery 20 min down the road from me. Wyldewood Cellars (Paxico Kansas)I think it's called. They specialize in elderberry wine. It is good, and they claim it will cure about everything!! They have a facility just south of Wichita also!!

I quit making it when I turned the basement floor purple!

My Dad made it along with Muscadine wine when I was a kid.

I think you can get it at a wine shop now.

sometimes you can never seem to buy something that is as good as homeade, if the person knows what they are doing. I have tasted a few homemade wines I wouldn't give a democrat though.......

    +1

My Old man made some pretty good homemade wine. I had a second Cousin who was a moonshiner in North Ga and he could really make some fine brandy from just about any fruit, but he made this Blueberry Brandy that was killer and it was about 80 proof to boot.

Bustedknee Ridge is famous for blackberries. I make several gallons a year.

How does elder berry compare? Should I plant a few bushes?

Bustedknee, elderberries make good jelly and topping as well as wine. If you like to do those things with blackberries I think you would enjoy the variety of also doing it with elderberries.
