That is a useful combo, I like the double triggers and the screw in choke.

Many years ago, my granddad said, "All a man needs around here (mountains of SW Virginia) is a double-barreled shotgun. Put buckshot in one barrel and punkin ball (slug) in tother.
Don't matter if the deer is standin' still or runnin', jus' select the right barrel."
Many years later I purchased one of those Russian combos in 12 ga/ 30-06 and put grandads theory to the test on deer on Kodiak Island.
He was right, ya know!
The 12 ga/223 would be a good hunting or survival gun.0 -
Not a Baikal, but I own a Savage 24V, in .30-.30 over a 20ga.
It is mounted with a Simmons Pro-Series (4 power?) Diamond reticle shotgun scope. I like it.
It came about due to a Select-Fire link to an auction, after we were discussing these types of firearms. His was a Valmet, if I am not mistaken.
The first Firearm I ever bought myself was a Savage (field grade) 24 .22mag over a 20 ga. Made a really nice trade on it, (1952 Winchester 94 in .30-.30) [which I still have] but I would really like to have that .22mag over 20 ga. back.
Personally, I like the Colt Courier Ricci is offering.

I sold that thirty thirty /20 on Gunbroker. I do have a Valmet 412 .308//12 and love it.0 -
I like the Combo guns. Especially the older ones. Although I've never pulled trigger so to speak on a Drilling, I always wanted a German/Austrian Drilling in 16X16X 30-06 or even 20X20X30-06 or 270.
I do have and early wood stocked O/U 22/410 Model 24 Savage, 1 standard and one deluxe 22/410 Marlin Model 90 O/U and one Standard 30-30/410 Marlin Model 90 o/u. Very sleek and cool little guns.0 -
I've got a CZ, 12 modified over 7X57. Nice well built rifle and the 7X57 is very accurate. A good rifle if your interest is bringing some sort of meat home. I don't really care if it is a Deer, a Hare or a Pheasant.:) 0 -
