    Thin cut? I'd Fajita them.

Your way is fine but that's entirely too much food for one meal. The mashed and one veg is plenty.

Grandson and his buddy are bow hunting in my tree stand. I?m hoping for some fresh deer tenderloin.
Leftover spaghetti is the back up plan.

Good thought, I have some flour fajita/tortilla wraps, too late now. (Maybe tommorrow for left overs.) Commited to steaks with A-1 sauce. Mmmnnn,................. mmmnnn.................

I like to cook more than "one meal," take to work for work lunches, or have a ready meal when I get home.

    Steaks are 1/2".

Cheap/inexpensive, bought them that way. Very nice cuts. 3 for about $10.

    No problems here. :D

How do you absolutely wreck three nice thin NY Strips?

"Baked in a cast iron skillet with just a touch of EVOO, (375* for 30-45 minutes,) in the bottom of the skillet. Salt, pepper, worchestershire, and just a touch of smoked seasoning/sauce."

    Totally overdone. :o

Munched on one just now, like crispy beef jerky. (From yesterday.)

Trying to rescue the other two. Water in the bottom of the cooking pan, soaking up the goodness, overnight. Simmering the reamaining two in the juice. Will not be good, but will be edible. Sigh........................

Should have just seared on each side for a couple minutes.

Ken, your post coincides with a local radio ad here of late. There is a big truckload sale at the mall parking lot where they are "giving" 20 NY strip steaks away for just a measly 30 bucks! My kid brother rushed 60 miles round trip to find the frozen steaks were about as thick as a 20 dollar gold piece! :o

They also had this big bin of real black angus beef, all yours for a mere 350 bucks. Brother declined all the good deals and took himself out to lunch at the mall's steak house.

Those guys were in this area, (about 35-45 mi. away) about a month ago. Sounded too good to be true.

I can picture what you are saying.

I was gonna comment yesterday on that and say that's about 20 minutes too long but figured everyone doesn't like their steak like I do.
If nothing else, Buddy will have a good meal.

Giving up on the Steaks. CPR/Intensive intervention was not going to bring them back.

Called in an order to Mikes BBQ. Got a BBQ platter, sans rolls, add a bun. Good Sheeit.

Dog got to go for a "Ride," his favorite thing ever. He will get a treat, in his meal. It's all good. :D

$10 wasted. Well not wasted, I had one as beef Jerky, dog will get the reconstituted upgrade, diced in his meal. All good.

    I am prone to burn/overcook stuff. Sigh.....................................................................................................

Lately I've been using a little grape seed oil to cook steaks. Seems to be a little better.
