My Letter To GunParts...Reckon It Will Do Any Good?

Recently, I came into possession of a Winchester model 94, post-1964. It was apparent there was a screw missing from a hole in the upper forward part of the left side of the receiver. I looked on the website at the so-called ?schematic.? The exploded diagram shown is ancient and unclear. It is the same picture shown for the 94 Winchester in my 25+ year old GunParts catalog.
I couldn?t tell much from the picture, but there was what looked to be a long screw in the area of concern. I wasn?t sure, so I called your phone number. I got an order taker on the phone who had no idea what I was wanting, so she referred me to a customer service person. I soon learned that the customer service person didn?t know much more than the order taker. I also learned that there are NO TECHNICAL ADVISERS on your payroll anymore! WOW!
The CS person looked at the exact same web page, the exact same ?schematic? that I was looking at, so he had no more information than I had. He also saw a long screw, and since I didn?t know any better, I ordered it. The screw arrived and I quickly found that it would not work.
So, I consulted a Gun Digest disassembly guide book, which I should have done to start with. I found that what was supposed to go in the hole was not a long screw, but a short link pin and a cap screw to hold it in place. So I ordered those parts, and they worked fine. Thanks!
PLEASE, update the ?schematic? drawing for the Model 94 Winchester. While you?re at it, you may find others that need updating.
I also acquired an EAA 9mm Witness-P, a normal Witness, but with a polymer frame. The gun had no magazine, so I looked on your site. I found MANY examples listed, BUT you only identified them by caliber, capacity, and either full-size or compact. The Witness is, or was, available as a ?large frame? or ?small frame,? but you don?t seem to know or acknowledge that fact.
So, I selected a factory magazine and ordered it. It arrived and I found that it will not fit into the magazine well of the pistol. So, I learned that my gun is apparently a small frame gun, and the magazine you sold me is for a large frame gun. RATS!
I called your outfit again and asked whether I could buy a small frame magazine for the Witness. The person with whom I spoke had no clue what I was talking about. She looked at the web page and read me some of the same information that I was seeing. Frustrated and disgusted, I hung up.
I did find the magazine I needed from a seller on Gunbroker. YAY!
I will not be returning anything, so don?t even suggest that as an option. The parts are small and not valuable, so it?s not worth our time to return them. I?ll find use for them or sell them.
Please hire someone with some firearms knowledge and have him/her go through your website and make sure your merchandise is accurately described.

last i heard was gpc closed its counter service where most gun experts worked. you could bring a gun in, point to what you needed and theyd get it.
and from what i gathered ...they are now strictly mail order/web order. problem is the women in the front office just answer phones and look at just what you pointed out....an old outdated diagram.
when i knew the owners personally and had access to 'the back'...ea dept had a gun that (the picker) could look at. he'd then pull out a drawer and get that part.
but dave...that was 25 years ago. im under the impression they are hanging on by a thread due to ny laws. you may get their attention, but the issue is...they are so big, for every customer they lose, they get 10 more.

VALID point and since they went to selling on Ebay, they have no service. I did return some wrong parts they sent me and did get a refund but shouldn't have to. I have looked into other less known parts places and had some good results.0
