Beware of the dog
Upon entering the little country store, the stranger noticed a sign saying "DANGER! BEWARE OF DOG!" posted on the glass door. Inside he noticed a harmless old hound dog asleep on the floor besides the cash register.
He asked the store manager, "Is THAT the dog folks are supposed to beware of?"
"Yep, that's him," he replied.
The stranger couldn't help but be amused. "That certainly doesn't look like a dangerous dog to me. Why in the world would you post that sign?"
"Because," the owner replied, "before I posted that sign, people kept tripping over him."

old fellow who owned a local garage had an old manjy looking german shepard tied up in corner, he would let loose overnight. I was talking to him one day and started to walk over to the dog, he yelled at me to stop. guess the dog would let you walk up and pet him, but when you turned to walk away he would bite you in back of leg or butt..... actually chewed on any of the tools/wrences he would drop. he never growled or barked just layed there.... 0 -

We were working for some folks who had a Beagle named "Barney". As you approached, he would run away barking, then when you turned your back, he would run up and bite the h$%^ out of your leg! We learned to face him at all cost! Ol' Barney met his end when he tried to bite one of the owner's horses. One kick was all it took. 0 -
