In order I like:

I drink these straight or on the rocks with maybe a dash of something like water or soda
1. Scotch
2. Irish Whisky
3. Canadian Whisky
3a. Tequila
4. Sour Mash
5. Bourbon

Vodka I always mix with something, I am beginning to like the flavored Vodka with Tonic water.

I avoid drinking any type of alcohol with a soda drink like coke but I am not adverse to dropping a shot in a glass of beer.

If I am drinking before noon its usually a Bloody Mary.

I don't mind drinking by myself either

I drank everything straight with a chaser. even Bacardi 151. did it for the flavor.

except tequila. that got the thing where you mix it with 7-up, put a napkin on the glass and shake.

Gave it all up on January 1st, 2000.

During these 20 years I saved enough money to pay for a new 2003 Silverado. Plus having approx. $11,000 left over. And on top of that I haven't made a fool out of myself and needed to apologize to anyone since then. It's like the gift that keeps on giving.

My favorite is whatever you're buying, but that wasn't on the list.

I drink mostly Gin, followed by Scotch or any almost other variety of whiskey. I don't especially care for Bourbon or Rum, and drink vodka only rarely.

I also drink everything straight. I love the taste of each, so I rarely add any mixer.

My go to is vodka, then bourbon, then scotch. Then pretty much anything that?s not sweet.

I normally buy a good brand along with a cheaper brand. Start off sipping the good stuff then migrate over the the other. Makes the good stuff last a lot longer.

The variations on whisk(e)y need to have their own poll since that seems to be the preferred here....

Scotch, Irish, Canadian, gotta throw Bourbon in there somewhere, don't forget the Ryes, etc.

And for me, bourbon or good beer.

If I were to go buy a bottle of bourbon right now I'd get another of the Woodford Reserve, although at $40/bottle it is a tad pricey but I don't drink much or often. On the cheap, the Evan Williams 179x (forget which year, and different years have a big price difference) at $13/bottle.

For beer, not a fan of the microbeers or the current trend towards super hoppy stuff. American and "big name" I'll drink Michelobe Amber Bock or Yeungling Lager. Imports I really like both Boddingtons (all praise The Nitro Widget!), Newcastle Brown Ale, and Samuel Smiths Oatmeal Stout (Guinness is OK but the SSOS kicks its butt. Lot heavier though - makes Guinness seem like a light beer).

I like the ones on sale or discontinued. Find a gooder every now and then.

One can't go wrong with Meyers's Dark Rum I do like Black Seal, too and Kraken. It's fun opening that and saying "release the Kraken".

Used to be Rum, Tequila, Vodka and sometimes scotch ......... but that was decades ago as quit drinking.

No, never got a DUI or in trouble for drinking..........just quit 'cause it was a stupid waste of money.

Beer, never much cared for the taste of the stuff.

And Nope, don't miss it one bit either. Also quit smoking about 20 years ago and do kinda miss it.

Bourbon is my first choice usually neat but often with a cube of ice (right now my favs are 18 yr old Elijah Craig and a 20 yr old Michters)
A close second would be a few of my Ryes and one or two of my Irish whiskeys
Have to admit I recently opened a 23 year old rum ( Kirk&Sweeney) that is very good with just a cube of ice

when I was in junior high school my preference was schnapps, but that changed to beer when I got to high school because that's what everybody was drinking at keggers of course. or whiskey since that was most available but that lead to a preference for Jeremah Weed. by the time I got to college I was drinking mostly vodka and rum. settled on rum though I don't remember how that happened; I preferred Bacardi Dark and 151. shortly after college I was working as a waiter at a very exclusive club and the head waiter, who doubled as a bartender, were talking about booze and he turned me on to scotch, in a rational way, explaining the differences between single malt and double malt scotch. couldn't afford the high-dollar stuff he was talking about and mostly drank Old Smuggler. since then, with the exception of the exceptional Grey Goose vodka, my preference over all has been scotch.

quit drinking about 10 years ago. couldn't imagine starting up again.
