The principal reason we ain't celebrate him in New Mexico. He did sail for Spain, Isabella and Ferdinand. He was married to a Portuguese woman and had a Castilian mistress, making him truly international. Still he never found the East Indies.0 -
What I find kind of funny is they blame a guy who was exploring and finding new country's when the main blame for the destruction of the indigenous peoples in the Caribbean and South and Central America can be laid at the feet of the Catholic Church and the Spanish Monarchy.
