Score One for the Good Guys!
They finally nailed this snake pit of hackers. A bunch them are pissin their pants right now because the Dutch Police seized their servers in the raid. Now they have a list of them to prosecute, and....they have trails to other blackhat operations.
These are the scumsuckers that dig for weak spots in forum software, and are very aggressive probing the phpBB software used here. You remember when this new forum software was just up and running? And how hard they tried? The "chinaman" that I gave GB Marketing a heads up to, is mentioned at the bottom of the article, they'll be coming for him now too.

For Hackers, Scammers, and Robo Callers no punishment is really enough! 0 -
hackers holding up a site for ransom should be treated like armed robbery.......and sentenced accordingly.... 0 -
Harsh, I mean harsh penalties should be implemented. 0 -

I think this is one of the few times they should be called terrorists, and punished accordingly0 -
This is going to get big.
Most don't realize how this effects you day to day. This is where spam, virus, malware, ransom ware, and ID theft comes from. KV was one of the biggest sources. Their clients are the snitbags that write the codes for this crap, and put it on dark websites for other snitbags to use. The best part, taking out this cesspool and grabbing their servers, will lead to "worldwide" busts of the other cesspools. The last message they sent to their customers was in code, telling them they got busted, and wipe your hard drives. The two young owners of KV are looking at a very long stay at the crossbar hotel, not to mention their liability for financial loss from large companies. What ever Interpol doesn't find, they'll squeeze them to snitch. The lowlifes are posting messages in a panic that they will.
There's going to be a lot of moms with empty basements. 8-)0 -
Sure hope that is how it plays out, 55. 0 -
I am probably not really very nice. I would truly love to have a virulent virus with which to answer all the spam I get on the e-mail account attached to Gunbroker. I would love to fire back a reply that would melt down their hard drives. 0 -
I can see a big improvement already across several forums I'm on. The bot traffic has been cut near 75%. I just hope it's not a calm before the storm.cbxjeff wrote:Sure hope that is how it plays out, 55.
Had a friend that worked at Microsoft years ago. He and some coworkers made a program (offsite unknown to MS) that worked on WinXP. You put the file in your documents and labeled it something they couldn't resist like "Bank Account Info". When a hacker opened it, they got the blue screen of death with a message saying "You're F'ed, and so is your hard drive". There was nothing they could do to stop it.
A member here who shall remain unnamed, had one of the best programs, that unfortunately doesn't work any more. It gathered all the spammers email addresses, and used them to sign them up on random porn sites.
