    I like em too!! But if I want to eat em, I have to prepare & cook em myself. There are no ready to eat fried gizzard places in northern lower Michigan that I know of.

    On a trip to the west coast several years ago, I enjoyed the gizzards sold by most large grocery stores in their deli's. The only good thing about the lack of ready to eat sources is that around here, you can still buy chicken gizzards & livers raw on the CHEAP!!

    Used to be the same for chicken wings many years ago but the popularity of wings hit us and sent the dang things flying (price wise). :x

    Haven't had chicken livers or gizzards in perhaps 60 years. Loved 'em back then. Some of our local convenience stores sell them. Maybe I'm due for a bit of food nostalgia.

    Brookwood - Gizzards here in my neck of California by Foster Farms run $2.49 a pound and I think livers $1.99 while whole chicken $1.29-ish when not on sale. You'd think they'd sell them off at .99 cents a pound or less but they don't. Making Dirty Rice ain't cheap with them prices. I should go to the grocery store daily to see if the packages of them move at that price.

    Yosh, you may not like to learn how long those over-priced innards remain on the selling block!

    My brother only lives a block away from his main food supply store. He does all of his shopping daily and has told me some stories that have some comical value with very sickening overtones. He had his eye on a fresh rainbow trout packaged in a quick self serve cooler near the stores deli. He is an avid trout fisherman and noticed a few features this particular fish had which made it possible to know it was the same fish he kept encountering day after day while shopping.

    After about 9 days (and the package expiration date being changed twice), he noticed the fish was gone. But wait! The same fish turned up being for sale around the corner of the deli's other cooler. Fully smoked and ready to eat!! :o:o :shock: :?
