Polymer 80 Lowers.....

What's people's opinion of these things? I'm barely to the point where I'll accept aluminum for gun parts, but am looking a one of the Polymer 80 kits.

  They appeal to the "Go Light" crowd. I was told to pick up a light AR at a gun show. Expecting the rifle to weight about 7-8lbs, when I lifted it, I almost hit my chin with it. This particular example had composite lower and composite barrel, stripped BCG and stock. He said it weighed less than 4 Lbs.
  
  Of course the no ffl needed for an 80% lower plus plastic does not show up on penetrating radar devices attracts the TEOTWAWKI crowd.

  Thinking of getting a few to use a trading/bartering stock down the road.
