USPS shipping amazing

ordered an item from a web site a few days ago. just checked "detailed shipping" took it three days to go from Kansas City, KS to Kansas City, Mo. probably shouldnt expect to see it anytime soon here in coastal Ms.

    There is no rhyme or reason. I just received a pistol shipped Priority Mail from New York State which took two days to be delivered to Orlando. Another handgun, this one Priority Mailed from Alabama, took five days.

    USPS doesn't do "direct shipping" as we would call it. All of the packages go thru "hubs" and go out from there. I once sold a revolver from Oregon to a buyer in Alaska. He Called me a few days later after following the tracking number and asked me why his gun was in Chicago. Found out that all of the shipments going to Alaska go thru there no matter where they are sent from..

    Mark, as an FFl can you ship a pistol to anywhere in the USA in one of those USPS $12.50 flat rate priority boxes?

    I just got a package from India. It took three days to get from India to New York. One week to get out of New York ( Two days in customs & then back & forth to every postal facility in New York.) & one more day to be delivered in Kalifornia.

    I am on 10 days for a USPS money order 1rst class mail. Has been circling St. Louis for 7 days. Pizzes me off , and they broke a beautiful CZ stock in half, DENIED claim 3 times. Beginning to think they are getting even more messed up.

    Shipped a box of parts in a USPS Priority Mail small box to Florida ... it disappeared and never found.

    Shipped a package USPS Insured to Texas several months ago. It disappeared, filed a claim, claim denied due to lapse of 60 window to file.

    USPS insurance isn't worth buyer ... by the time the receipient notifies you the package wasn't received, the time it takes to get the form and supporting paperwork filed you 60 day filing window is gone.

    Just another insurance rip off ...... like most insurance. They ALWAYS find a way to deny a claim. :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil:
