I agree. If you are beyond proficient with weaponry I don't think you necessarily need to go to school but it will help bring you up to speed if you are just starting out. I realize no matter your skill level hitting up one of the many gun fighting courses offered across the country will improve your skills but for the most part are not necessary. 0 -
Good points he brings up. 0 -

Good points. Especially is you get one of those guys that gives instruction like "always kill them, dead people can't sue" "empty your weapon, don't stop shooting" etc. etc. Good Instructions are important when starting out and practice is always important. But bad instructions are not so good.0 -
He is right -- you know?
Possibly the worse feeling I have ever had in the pit of my stomach?
When I ran my G43 dry!
I never want to experience that again.
Possibly the most europhic feeling I ever had in the pit of my stomach?
After my gun ran dry I reached for my BUG and there it was!
About the empty - chamber carry. It is far easier to teach a bunch of dorky soldiers to safely carry a handgun "unloaded" than it is to make them competent.0 -
#4 Not carrying a piece. Getting complacent nothing could happen . 0 -
Agree, but instead of carrying an extra magazine, just carry an extra gun. 0 -
Im guilty of not carrying an extra mag on occasion & its not about capacity its about function.
But an extra mag should be much quicker to reload than to draw an engage with a back up gun-in my unsolicited opinion.0 -

Seems like the guy really likes to hear himself talk. 0 -
I made a mistake one day last week. I was walking though Home Depot and something felt different and then it dawned on me that I did not have my gun on me. I've been in places where I couldn't carry one like a courthouse or other government buildings where there's metal detectors but to just plain old forget my gun that was a first. I never felt so naked. I immediately went back to the car to get it and then made a mental note to NEVER do that again!!
That would have been a very big surprise to have needed my gun and reach for it and it not be there. :shock:0
