I just heard that on the radio. 0 -
10 passengers and 3 crew lost.
The Nine-O-Nine is no more.
Got a few pictures with the bomber when I was a teenager. To say I felt 10 feet tall and bulletproof on that day would be a gross understatement.0 -
Wow, I have a picture of "Nine O Nine" that I took at our local airport a few years back. That pic is my screensaver. 0 -
I flew in "Madras Maiden" (Tail #448543) in May of 2017. It was an experience I looked forward to for years - and will never forget. Link: http://warbirdregistry.org/b17registry/b17-448543.html
How sad it is that others died while achieving that same kind of bucket list dream. And also how sad that an irreplaceable plane is lost.0 -
Saw that as well, so sad. Another grand old bird is gone. 0 -
I toured through Nine-O-Nine when it was here in 2008 as part of an air show. I decided not to take an E-Ticket ride in the old aircraft, but I did get a bunch of pictures outside as well as inside. Very sad!! 0 -
Just talked to my sister, her husband and son rode that same airplane last summer. 0 -
