Dammit!
Nickel is N-I-C-K-E-L, as in I don?t have a nickel to spend on guns right now.
With the over-stamp, I believe it will go high.0 -
Yes a factory letter might yield a 25% boost in final auction sale price - perhaps more depending on the rarity of this overstamp type...
Might have been worth holding in reserve and funding the research in advance - possibly much money left on the table...
Other them the terrible appearing backstrap are there any signs of use or wear - how's the forcing cone and topstrap look as far as wear from shooting???
Possibly a pre-production example or test mule or working model that would have been better served not leaving the factory for retail sale???
I am intrigued.
Perhaps posting some questions on one of the prominent Smith forums along with a link might result in some furious bidding competition...

I've shared a link in the revolver section of another forum asking if anyone has ever seen such before.
Good luck. [I couldn't buy it even if it went for dirt cause then I'd have to stock up on .41 ammo....]0 -
And a nice compact high cap .45 Beretta CCW EDC semiautomatic pistol - one you done see every day...
God save and protect us from Glocks and .40's...
Give me a steel frame .45 and and it just screams America.
