Overheard a funny comment at Fleet Farm store
Older guy says to one of the employees "Doesn't get much better than this, truck tires, beer and guns, I think I'm going to have my ashes spread in here"

You can walk through a store like that and get all sorts of "trigger smells". Tires, hydraulic oil, a whiff of chainsaw exhaust from the shop area, the aroma of doe pee, and then walk past the popcorn popper and grab a bag.
Darn, it don't get no better than that.
The local "farm & home" stores have gone to the dark side with clothes, coolers, garden seed, and pet food commanding the majority of the floor space. One has to negotiate a mine field of rhinestone decorated blue jeans to get from the nuts & bolts section to the grease & oil area and slip past the coolers and city boy boots to get to the vet supplies.
I have a relative who works in one of these stores and his response to my question about the displays was revealing. He said" We have to go with the money and realize that city folks are too easily distracted to search for what they want. A farmer will walk the entire store to find 3 pieces he needs but if Ms. Chittyfied doesn't see what she wants within about 30 seconds, she walks out."0 -
Local Rural King sells guns and Stihl equipment. That?s as far as I get, usually. 0 -
What I appreciate about Fleet Farm is the store is set up so you can see. The really tall shelves are in the back so when navigating the store you can look over the shelves and see all the way across. Other places need to adopt this. 0 -

Never been in a farm and fleet but
You guys are missing out that you don?t have Murdoch?s.
Joe, BSR, Idaho Bound get to shop at two in Bozeman and we always have a shopping list when we know will travel through a Montana town that has a Murdoch?s.
Our local farm store CAL ranch has went completely down the tubes and carrying Chinese junk and bling pants.
They don?t even have popcorn any longer.
