Bill in Florida legislature to require mental health evaluation

Can you believe this - a bill by a "Demorat" to require all concealed carry applicants - and I assume all renewals to undergo a mental health evaluation.

Does the armed law enforcement official administering the test need such an exam before he or she is ready for duty and issued a gun???

So you were judged to be in good enough health to join a branch of the US military and now you need a third party to verify that your mental state meets the new gun background test and check standards???

I smell HIPPA violations...

They tried the same thing in California. The reasoning was any gun owner should have a mental evaluation and almost in the same breath said anybody who would want to own a firearm is mentally deficient,

It is much easier to screw one out of a right than it is to take it away. Make the process expensive, difficult or time consuming and less people will participate.
