find at local box store
i was in a local big box hardware store today , on top of a trash can was a set of the bolt and nut size boards . I ask if I could have them or sell them to me they sold them to me for 1.00 for both they had just put up a new set . the metric board had two of the smaller nuts missing . but I thought it was still a good find deal for a buck . fast easy way to find what i need
they look like these .

At one time, I could look at a bolt or machine screw and tell what size and thread it was. Since retirement, I have somewhat lost that skill.
A set like yours would come in handy.0 -
