20 Years ago, Myself and another went to DEMOCRAT strategic planning meetings in two different states in attempts to turn the party away from gun control. The senior leaders made it blatantly clear, the ultimate goal of the party was a total end to the private ownership of firearms. When I mentioned the US Cons I was told ''It can and will be changed" Further, the hierarchy made it clear there would absolutely be no compromise on the gun issue.
When asked how, they said the incremental approach. Low hanging fruit such as assault weapons and hi-cap mags, registration, taxes on ammo, followed by a handgun ban and finally hunting rifles and shotguns. Possession of a firearm could result in being charged as a class B & C felony.
Was then told, people that can't accept gun control have no business being in the DEMOCRAT party.0
