For many reasons, carreer change happened

Y?all know what?s up, no need to bore you with all those stories for the 100th time. From the extreme regulations that a free man such as myself has issues with, to all the idiots behind the wheel of trucks today and trucking being in a recession right now, I have made up my mind, I am done!

I?m an employee again, took a job with a very reputable local company today and will be working in the mines close to home. Home everyday, regular shifts and decent $$ plus BC/BS insurance.

I admit, gonna miss going to Hunts Point, what a fun neat place to go to.

But, I?m tired, I?m not old yet but I?m getting there. Wow, a normal schedule again.

    I hope it works out for you . giving up a bit of personal freedom and being your own boss may be a bit tough , but from I have read in your post you have faced and went thru a lot worse .

    Cant blame you.

    A couple of OW-OPs I knew gave it up for the same reasons but they loved trucking and went to work for medium size firms. All they have to do is what they like and that is drive. Would like to see Trump focus on reforming the myriad of Obama regs imposed on the industry, like he has on other stuff.

    One of the best decisions of my life was made right after the Peanut Farmer Effed up the trucking industry and that was to get out of it. Turned out to be they best career change ever.

    20 mile round trip, park the truck in town! I?ll be running from the mine that is south of Cameron to Three Forks 3 times a day. And when a slot opens in Alder where my lady works I?ll be over there.

    Bry?ann and the kiddies are insured already, due to issues with that redhead in PA I cannot get on hers so I have to get my own insurance.

    Stay tuned folks for the next chapter in the exciting BSR saga. Will he throw the mining foreman off a cliff in a fit of rage? Or will he join the workforce as a normal family man. We'll just have to wait and see. :D

    Good to hear. It is really tough these days to be self employed.

    With all of the regulations it is very difficult to make a decent living being self employed unless of course you are in a very specialized business.

    I?m on day #4 of babysitting, so far so good. Just gotta keep the fights from starting. We are fixing to have corndogs for lunch after a hard day of riding bikes and playing outside (the girls, not me, I?m too fat!) I?ve been busy trying to figure out someones backyard trailer light wiring. Maybe you can tell me why my ground wires cut on and off with the blinkers??

    No crap!! Hit the 4 ways and everything blinks! Using a seperate power source I traced it to the ground. Got the belly pan open, holy crap someone loves wire nuts! Everything is isolated and disconnected, time to find the short 😡

    I have found when dealing with old trailers its sometimes better to rip it all out and start over.

    I had an International Scout II, back in the day. (Traded a 74' Z28 for it.)

    Was out 4 wheeling with Buddy's out in the Boonies one time. Dash fire. (Learned I needed to keep a fire extinguisher on board.) Put it out by throwing mud on it. Good Stuff.

    Got it back in town/to the house. Some Idiot, (See "What an Idiot thread.") Had wired the entire truck, with the same brown wiring, from front bumper to the back bumper. Who does Stupid Sheeit like that?

    Yes, it was a rip out, re-do project.
