reloading 7x57 used in a DWM 1895 mauser
I am going to reload for a 1895 DWM Mauser and was wondering if someone had a good proven load to be used for deer hunting. Also is the 1895 action strong enough to reload to higher velocity and pressure than the original loadings. Any info is appreciated.

I wouldn't push the pressure. Any load will likely harvest a deer. I like the 162 gr Hornady bullet. Have you slugged the bore, they are often oversized and so are the chambers. I'll look for some data later.
I'd look at loads with pressure of 49,000 or less, perhaps a lot less. Heavy bullets tend to shoot better.

The 1895 Mauser is strong enough for normal loads but it does not nave the safety features of the 1898: gas shield and safety lug. 0
