Sorry I have been down and out for two days - don't think I have moved much except to use the bathroom...
Got caught up on some sleep and now it's just drifting between layers of discomfort.
I need to make a bunch of follow up phone calls and check on some appointment dates and such in the morning.
It's been a rough 48 hours.
Sadly the group consensus seems to be that I am a recalcitrant idiot for refusing to accept increases I'd period and frequency and dosage of pain meds or to have tried alternative pain meds over the last 18 months...
My tolerance has built up and the effectiveness decreased at alarming rates.
I am dependent on the meds to function and to me it's not a far step to addiction or to achieving a drug seeker profile but they insist it's fairly obvious to anyone reviewing my chart and file or dealing with me personally that I am not an addict or a seeker.
I was a bit concerned about my bodies reaction to some of the new pain med combinations they tried - my blood oxygen levels dropped into the low 90's and my blood pressure hit 105 over 54...
Normally you could set me on fire and blood oxygen levels would stay at 99% and BP would bottom out at 120 over 70...
They were not to concerned but I worried I would just stop breathing.
I am happy to be home - just not happy with the outlook and with what's on the horizon.
I'm not dead and the cancer has not come back a third time and I have not been warehoused in an assisted living facility so I guess it could be worse.
