Where to shop? Now kroger

Kroger just joined wal-mart in promoting increased gun control. Kroger owns the local jayc grocery store. I will pull my pharmacy business from there. There are a few grocery stores within 15 miles of me but the jayc is the only one in town. Milk and eggs can be bought at the dollar store, but that's about it.

    Kroger owns Fred Meyer which is a higher class version of Walmart here in Washington. I rarely shopped there but I had seen people open carry there. They used to have no issues with open carry. I conceal carry.

    It's not just the open carry. kroger is going to push for increased back grounds check as well.

    "Kroger is respectfully asking that customers no longer openly carry firearms into our stores, other than authorized law enforcement officers," Jessica Adelman, group vice president of corporate affairs, said in a statement. "We are also joining those encouraging our elected leaders to pass laws that will strengthen background checks and remove weapons from those who have been found to pose a risk for violence."

    "Kroger has demonstrated with our actions that we recognize the growing chorus of Americans who are no longer comfortable with the status quo and who are advocating for concrete and common sense gun reforms," she added.

    Makes no difference to me, I don't open carry anyway. The least people assume about me the better.

    The no open carry isn't really the issue. It's them advocating for more infringements into 2nd amendment individual rights that is the issue.

    I wish we had mom and pop grocery stores in my area, but we don't. We have other businesses, but other than a few convenient type stores everything is chained owned, with kroger being the most prevalent.

    Open carry just draws attention to yourself, like the gang bangers covered with tattoos and purple hair. It's all about "being specfial." Just carry concealed so that if a need arises you might have a chance to take action without advertising "Hey, shoot me first!"

    I never could understand open carry. If you do, you lose the element of surprise in case something bad happens. I used to shop at Kroger often but no more. 2-3 years ago I had my basket full including (for the first time) a case of beer. The kid behind the register asked me for my I.D. I'm months away from being 80. I walked from my cart and out the door. I realize that the management has the right to do that but I also have the right to shop elsewhere.

    I would agree with that. hey it's their store. but, they are also joining the fight against us on our rights.

    wally world moved into countless small towns and areas forced out the "mom and pop " shops now pissing on the same group they got there billions of dollars from . to try and throw the left a bone to back off them ..
    the left will never settle for a bone or a new rule / restriction / or small victory .they want more and more . its like there eating a elephant one small bite at a time until its gone ( what there doing with the 2nd amendment) . if they can take a bite today victory for the battle but the war rages on they will be back tomorrow for another bite and so it goes

    ?I don?t open carry so I don?t care? ?Open carry is wrong, I carry concealed?

    Just like the people who use a heavy bolt action magnum for deer hunting claiming we don?t need AR15s.

    Or recently, bump stocks, if you want to shoot fast do it another way because bumpstocks are not needed they say.

    Support our rights, not just the parts you like.

    And no, I don?t open carry but this still pisses me off.
