so now is the USA expected to take in and give a FREE life of welfare to these hurricane victims ???

    We probably are, but I say to them, "tough s***" if you want to live in America.

    They are their own country, they are part of England in some way, I say, we send over a bunch of big tents, and food and water for the next 6 months. We cannot be the refuge of everybody in the world, whether it is a Caribbean hurricane, or, an oppressive govt. in Guatemala.

    They had hurricanes in the Bahamas in the 1500s, before our country existed, and the Bahamians dealt with them, somehow.

    So you are saying that they failed to plan ahead for a disaster, and now it's the US's duty to bail out another S---hole country!     This isn't the first time a hurricane has hit so there should be some expectation that prior preparations had been made. I don't owe those island dwellers ANYTHING. Let the survivors learn from their past mistakes.

    Sorry for their plight but it's not like this hasn't happened before. Could be a beautiful island if it weren't for the "high end " corruption. Two classes of people : those that own anything of value ( small in number--could and did get out ) and those poor straw merchants that have 10 kids on a dollar a day existence.

    Now all these people can move to the US and get on the welfare rolls sit around and bitch about how they aren't getting any help from the US.

    I wonder if people realize the country is called The BahamaS.............There is more than one island. They are also a British Commonwealth which has 53 country's in it......

    Why come here?


    I know so they can vote for the next democrap candidate and turn FL Blue :shock:

    It's been a few years since I took a cruise to the Bahamas, but I recall a port charge of $80 per passenger. Yes, they provide nice concrete piers & stevedores, but that seems like a lot of money. They should have been able to build several world-class fully stocked emergency shelters for the inevitable hurricanes & tropical storms.

    Not sure where the number 70,000 comes from, but these people are certainly more legitimate than those crossing in illegally.

    These people are victims of a natural disaster- they lost their homes and work they are not abandoning them.

    I would see how this really plays out.

    those who CHOOSE to live a few feet above the ocean on an island in a known hurricane zone ... well, there are consequences to choices.

    have NOT seen ONE pic of ONE person picking up ONE board or doing anything to clean up...just waiting in lines wearing clean clothes ??

    AND...wife said that seems NONE of the vids as hurricane was s l o w l y coming showed homes boarded up, prepped, contents covered, NO major evacuation, ho hum......some big fancy homes (probably foreign owned) showed small damage like they were built anticipating trouble ....stepson in s central florida shuttered up house, covered furniture inside, small contents into plastic boxes, etc...said the big businesses took 3 days to cover up and uncover when blow did not really hit them...afterwards the bahamas lines looking for evac showed people neatly dressed, many white colored clothes and NONE back home even trying to clean things up.....hmmm guess a storm in the US is different when immediately after news shows people out and working to get things done......so i have NO desire to see GET IN FREE to the USA and lineup for WELFARE cruises or flights

    +1 and looking well fed. I have not seen one woman without a fat kid and who weighed less than 200#'s.
