The Winchester 1911 Semi Auto Shotgun!

Not something you want to have in a duck blind but a really cool gun. Its amazing how the designer got around all the Browning and Remington patents to come up with a shotgun that is as crazy as there are.

I actually hunted with a guy in WA who used one. We hunted Spruce Grouse and Pheasant(On Post) and he used one. I thought they were super dangerous but he told me that if you handled the gun and loaded like you were suppose to it was not dangerous at all. He said most people just don't know how to load it properly. You have to push a button on the receiver before cocking it, load one in the chamber let the bolt go home and load the magazine.

They also take down very easy

all in all a cool gun that got bad press...............

    I've owned a few.
    They were called "The Widow Maker" for a reason! YUCK! a very sorry answer to the great A5.
    Winchester totally blew it when they tried to play hardball with Mr. Browning on the Auto 5!

    The Winchester model 40 is very similar. The patent on the A5 cocking handle expired so Winchester did away with the knurled barrel and put a cocking lever on the bolt.

    They still were unpopular and Winchester would give you a model 12 if you returned your Model 40.

    The M40 had a skeet model too. They were cutts compensator ready and had checkering.

    You don't see many M40's either.

    I'll still take a nice Belgium Auto 5 Browning any day.
    Light 12, Sweet 16, light 20, Mag 20?
    Yup, any and/or all of the above!

    I actually have one of those. Bought it because of the history and notoriety that came with it. Shot fine.
